We have gotten past weeks plenty reactions of artists that wanted to help us on the ‘art-side’. Which is fabulous of course but as you probably discovered we don’t have a ‘submit-art-button’ yet. It’s a pity, we know, we know…
But here’s the cool thing. When we just launched we used to have two pools where artists could just submit their works. At this moment we don’t use them officially, but if you happen to be an artist, please do submit your work here.
We will contact you through these channels, and we’ll soon ask you to really submit your work in a better way.
So go and add your works:

Going to NY was one big hit. As explained in the previous blogpost, we (Alexander and Justus, me) got there selling cardboard works to buy our tickets. When we finally got there we reached the following goals:
I just want to remind you that some people laughed at me when I took the idea serious, but now we start feeling that we are beginning a storm, a social media storm, which will turn Times Square in a massive Art Exhibition. I assume you’re in?

It was an accident that I, as a Dutch guy living in Holland, stumbled uppon the idea to turn Times Square in Art Square. As you know Times Square is in the US and therefore it requires me to pay for a ticket I actually can’t afford. So I decided to come up with an idea: making art for paying the tickets to New York. I started a few days ago with my first works, I call them cardboard artworks.

One of the works, find more on http://campaign.ts2as.org
I launched the website and in no time I sold up to around 10-20 works to most of the people, my friends and family. Unofficially (comfirmed but didn’t pay yet) I have earned the half the price of one ticket. I hope we can sell by the end of next week at least enough to pay three tickets for a part of our team to head over to NY.
Anyhow it’s the start of something amazing: we are going to show the world that our generation is capable of changing things, by using the power of the internet, to reach out to the impossible and make it possible. Please help us getting our tickets and buy some of our works. See it as an art share, the price of the piece will increase dramatically when we turned Times Square into Art Square.
Get the project on track and join the biggest movement of the century!

Well as you may expect, we dove in a little naive thinking we could fly for free from day one. Anyhow, as you may expected, it turned out to be a little bit more complex then we thought. Calling and mailing several foundations and other commercial organizations made us asking more questions then getting real good answers. So we decided to ask our fans and followers. We had some pleasing replies:
Again there’s a reason why we do this. Every single dollar we get donated goes to the art project and not to our own expenditures, just that you get that right: we don’t have money. We want to show the world you can do something amazing starting without a single penny.
Ok shall we head over to Plan B? Ideas? Feel free to comment.

We can’t ignore the elephant in the room. We realize our idea to turn Times Square to Art Square is a little ambitious. People laugh at us, all the time. Still, we really believe it’s possible to turn an enormous commercial machine into an art exhibition. And to prove we have reality checks all the time, here’s a video of Times Square. We watch it every day. Just so you know we’re serious. Would you like to join us on this exciting ride? Drop us a line on Facebook or Twitter.
